Introduction[]

The Rime is a close range (up to 300 meters) cryogenic light rocket weapon. It has a medium and heavy counterpart (Cryo and Glacier respectively) and can be viewed as the freezing counterpart to the Pinata.

Strategy[]

The Rime's explosive shells works very similar to its medium counterpart Cryo and it's heavy counterpart Glacier, with a freezing effect and the ability to reload while firing.

The Rime is very similar to the Pinata in that the Rime's strength comes from its burst potential, but, like other rocket-based weapons, the Rime suffers in prolonged combat. It increases the damage dealt to the target when it is in a closer range, just like most of the other rocket launchers.

A hit-and-run strategy is advisable due to the Rime's huge burst damage, freezing effect, and poor performance in sustained combat. Each Rime does little damage individually, so they should be used in multiples or with Cryos, Glaciers, and other close range weapons to maximize the weapons' potentials.

The Rime's ability to freeze enemy robots and splash damage, especially when used with its medium and heavy counterparts, makes it very useful at pinning down fast-moving enemy robots which rely on their speed to cause maximum speed and chaos, such as the Kumiho, Strider, or Pursuer. This allows one's teammates to quickly eliminate the threat and buys time for the rest of the team to get into better firing positions.

It can also be used to pin down pursuing enemies, allowing more time for a strategic retreat or repositioning without losing too much health.

Pros and Cons[]

Pros

  • High burst damage
  • Can freeze enemies
  • Can penetrate physical shields
  • Can reload while firing
  • Small splash radius
  • Large clip
  • Has capability to freeze enemies in one volley

Cons

  • Short range (300 meters)
  • Slow reload (for full clip)
  • Not good for sustained damage
