Introduction
The Retaliator is a close to mid-range (up to 500 meters, with a 250-meter optimal range) beta kinetic weapon.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- High DPS in close range (300m or less)
- Double damage to physical shields
- If it fires for 3 seconds straight, it begins to fire at 1.5x the speed
- Painful damage, even at max range
- 500m range allows engagement at mid-ranges
- Defense Mitigation allows partial to full negation of damage resistance
Cons
- Cannot penetrate any shield
- Less damage at long range (although it's not bad)
- The whole magazine needs to be empty in order to reload
- Beta weapon-unable to be mounted on standard robots, forcing it to lose its versatility
Strategy
The Retaliator is the starter Beta weapon for Titans, as it is the default weapon for the starter Titan Kid. Thanks to its resemblance to the Punisher, the Retaliator is relatively simple to use, at the cost of effectiveness against smaller bots.
The Retaliator can be subpar when used against smaller bots, but in general can maintain effectiveness. The Retaliator's kinetic property lets it deal double damage to shields, and shooting at enemy Titans recompenses for its lack of accuracy at long ranges.
