Backstory[]

"Marie was the daughter of a famous Icarus officer and she was always on an adventurous path. She lied in Nebula when she was a teenager and her greatest hero was Olga Mininia who left the village a few years before to fight in the Arena. They had seen each other while working on the farm a few times, but there was no news about Olga for a while since she left. Mare became increasingly bored and impatient and plotted with her girlfriend Victoria to run to the big city and join the Main Icarus Pilot Academy."

"Without a thought of using her father's connections, she passed the entrance exams with flying colors and completed her training. Marie spent a while assigned to patrol duty and colony protection, and this experience of constantly fighting bandits made her ready for anything."

"During one of the scouting missions on earth her superiors assigned to her, she discovered a secret document that described a unique robot building system. Instead of reporting this to her superiors and obeying the ban on bringing technology from Earth to the colony, she concealed it and learned how to upgrade her robot to restore critical damage."

Preset Skill[]

Marie's skill, Repair That, is a supportive ability meant to restore 30% of Gray (Cannot be restored) durability while using Mender's ability, Support. It is highly similar to APPM-3TR's skill except his ability is associated to Demeter and only restores 10% of Gray durability.

Strategy[]

Mender

Mender is a very strong robot, even in the grand scheme of the game, despite being T3. However, like all support robot, there is one thing it sorely lacks-the ability to repair hull integrity. This is a dominant flaw as simply equipping certain Drones or Modules can already provide exceptionally high repair to your robot, and therefore eliminates the need for external intervention to repair. Therefore, using this skill can eliminate Mender's main weakness, not being able to restore much health after being critically injured. This will also make Mender more capable of surpassing enemy DPS enough that you heal more Health than your opponent deals damage to you.

Using Marie changes Mender from a strictly support-based playstyle to a much more versatile one. With Repair That, Support can be used as an offensive ability, as Mender's repair strength will allow it to stay on the battlefield for much longer while leading offensive pushes into enemy territory. As always, the Mender is still better in a strike team as it can use its allies as extra firepower, to draw enemy fire away from itself while also providing additional Honor to the Mender for repairing them.

In addition, the Mender's role as a support robot is enhanced heavily while Marie is inside the cockpit. While regrouping, the Mender can activate Support to heal itself and any allies of hull integrity damage sustained while battling, raising their healthpools far higher than what they would normally have after engaging in the skirmish. This allows the Mender and its team to go back into battle after an earlier skirmish with much more health than their enemies (provided they hadn't been destroyed and are returning with fresh mechs), giving them a major advantage in any brawls.

Counterplay: Due to the universality of Marie's skill, it is exceptionally difficult to devise an effective proper countermeasure to her ability. However, the effectiveness of it can be reduced by using weapons with the Sonic attribute. The aforementioned attribute causes only hull integrity damage, and while it is Marie's gimmick to repair that, she can only repair it with 30% as much efficiency as she can normal damage, which means that using Sonic-attribute weapons will slow down her repair speed.

Threat Measure: Marie's ability to repair hull integrity damage is almostt completely unique and is a gimmick that is in eternally high demand on the battlefield, and for good reason. The ability to restore a robot to their maximum health is extremely valuable and makes Marie a massive threat while piloting a Mender on the battlefield.

Trivia[]

  • Repair That is very similar to Android Synergy, except that it heals more Gray Durability and is associated with Mender.
  • Marie Leclair is unique as her ability does not actually follow the standard template of Pilot skills of [Pilot Name]'s [Gimmick]. Instead, her skill is just named Repair That.
