===Standard Pilots=== |
===Standard Pilots=== |
||
Pilots of this type have a blue colored background behind them. All standard pilots start with an initial skill (these give bonuses in battle) when equipped to a robot. This skill is specially tailored to the robot and equipment configuration it is currently using. Every 10th pilot level (after level 1) the pilot gains a new rank, and can learn a new skill, that either gives the robot it is piloting, or any specific equip mounted on it, a bonus. A pilot can learn up to 7 skills and can reach a maximum level of 70, with each individual level up increasing the effectiveness of the skill that is currently being trained (only one skill can be trained at a time). |

===Legendary Pilots=== |
||
This type of pilot shares everything a standard pilot is capable of (see above), but with two exceptions; the first being it has a gold colored background, and second (more importantly), the initial skill is for a particular robot, and this special skill is not available for standard pilots. This gives them a unique advantage when piloting the robot they are specialized for. |

− | How to Acquire |
+ | ==Training Center (How to Acquire)== |
− | + | Pilots are purchased for gold in the Training Center; located in the "offers" screen, under the "Pilots" tab. |
|
+ | Pilots appear randomly in the training center. They change every 12 hours. An update can be forced by spending 50 gold. On Android, players may watch one ad per day to get a free update. |
||
+ | |||
+ | Legendary pilots start at level 1, most cost 2,500 gold in the training center. (Currently Adam O'Leary costs only 1,000 gold.) Other pilots may appear at higher levels and sometimes include future promotions. The highest possible level increases as the player trains his pilots. A new player will see only pilots at level 1-10. |
||
+ | |||
+ | Example: Barbara Noel is at the maximal level and can immediately learn 4 skills. However, changing a skill at random will cost 150 gold. Raj Esfahani can learn 3 skills (100 gold for a random roll) and the promotion from level 30 to level 31 is free (instead of 1,500 gold). |
||
− | Here, once a day (can be sped up with gold) three new pilots are available for recruitment. The higher the pilot's initial level and/or rank, the more gold it costs. |
||
− | This is also where you can acquire Legendary Pilots, if and when one appears, it will cost 2,500 gold and start at level 1. |
||
− | |
||
− | Note: The more experienced the pilots you own become, the better the recruitment choices are (higher leveled recruits). |
||
==Leveling Up== |
==Leveling Up== |
||
− | Leveling up can be done in |
+ | Leveling up can be done in 2 different ways; by using the robot(s) equipped with a pilot(s) in battle to gain experience (for the pilot[s]), or using the "boost" feature by spending gold to immediately advance the pilot a level. The better the player performs in battle the more experience his/her pilot(s) will gain The higher the pilot's rank the more experience it requires to level up, as well as costing more gold to boost a level. You can keep track of your progress by looking at a pilot's experience bar. |
+ | Pilot skills have tiers (T1 to T4) that increase the bonus of the pilot. Tiers can be increased for gold. Only legendary pilots can achieve T4. Skills that are randomly rolled have a small chance to be higher than T1. The effects listed in the Wiki (as per pre-6.2) are now T3. All existing skills pre-update became T3 in the new system. |
||
− | Every 10th level after level 1 (11, 21, 31, 41, 51, and 61) the pilot needs to be promoted to a new rank. In order to promote a pilot, 500 gold must be spend (same location as the boost button) for the first rank (at level 11). Each subsequent promotion costs more gold than the previous rank up. Each promotion allows the pilot to learn a new random skill (a maximum of 7) that fits the current robot configuration. |
||
+ | Example: Master Gunsmith on an Ao Jun at T1 gives 1.25% damage if the level is maxed. At T2, the bonus increases to 1.9%. For T3 it's 2.5%. Some skills like Foolhardy Quartermaster do not change if their tier is increased. |
||
+ | |||
+ | Every 10th level after level 1 (11, 21, 31, 41, 51, and 61) the pilot needs to be promoted to a new rank. In order to promote a pilot, 500 gold must be spent (same location as the boost button) for the first rank (at level 11). Each subsequent promotion costs more gold than the previous rank up. Each promotion allows the pilot to learn a new random skill (a maximum of 7) that fits the current robot configuration. Legendary pilots have an extra skill. That is, a pilot like Yang Lee (Quantum Radar when Ao Jun is in flight) learns an additional skill at level 1. |

==Replacing Skills== |
||
− | If for any reason the random skill your robot configuration acquires isn't to your liking, you can get it replaced in two different ways; the first and most simple way is to "re-roll" for a new skill. This is done by pressing the "Retrain" button near the skill you want to replace, and then by pressing the "Random Skill" button (for 50 gold) it will randomly select a new skill. The other (more expensive way) is to choose your own skill. This is done by pressing the "Skills List" button on the retraining page. Here, you have a choice between all available robot or weapon skills (all cost 1,000 gold) for the current robot setup your pilot is equipped to. |

The gold cost for this increases with the level of the pilot. Note that the cost changes for all skills. Therefore it costs more gold to re-train a pilot to different weapons or a different robot than to assign skills for a new robot. It is also more expensive to change skills after the pilot was promoted. Example: A level 41-50 pilot will pay 200 gold to roll a random skill for all 5 skills. For a new pilot, it costs 50 gold to roll at level 1-10, 75 gold to roll at level 11-20 and so on. |

Introduction
Pilots are equip-able human soldiers, that can be trained to give particular robot configurations special bonuses that can give players an edge on the battlefield. This was one of 3 major features of 2019. This feature was introduced in update 5.1.
Pilot Types
There are two types of pilots in the game; Standard and Legendary.
Standard Pilots
List of Regular Pilots
Notes: Skills can not be duplicated (similar bonus types can be stacked however). Each pilot of this type has their unique story (below their skills).
Legendary Pilots
This type of pilot shares everything a standard pilot is capable of (see above), but with two exceptions; the first being it has a gold colored background, and second (more importantly), the initial skill is for a particular robot, and this special skill is not available for standard pilots. This gives them a unique advantage when piloting the robot they are specialized for.

Training Center (How to Acquire)
Pilots are purchased for gold in the Training Center; located in the "offers" screen, under the "Pilots" tab. Pilots appear randomly in the training center. They change every 12 hours. An update can be forced by spending 50 gold. On Android, players may watch one ad per day to get a free update.
Legendary pilots start at level 1, most cost 2,500 gold in the training center. (Currently Adam O'Leary costs only 1,000 gold.) Other pilots may appear at higher levels and sometimes include future promotions. The highest possible level increases as the player trains his pilots. A new player will see only pilots at level 1-10.
Example: Barbara Noel is at the maximal level and can immediately learn 4 skills. However, changing a skill at random will cost 150 gold. Raj Esfahani can learn 3 skills (100 gold for a random roll) and the promotion from level 30 to level 31 is free (instead of 1,500 gold).
Leveling Up
Leveling up can be done in 2 different ways; by using the robot(s) equipped with a pilot(s) in battle to gain experience (for the pilot[s]), or using the "boost" feature by spending gold to immediately advance the pilot a level. The better the player performs in battle the more experience his/her pilot(s) will gain The higher the pilot's rank the more experience it requires to level up, as well as costing more gold to boost a level. You can keep track of your progress by looking at a pilot's experience bar.
Pilot skills have tiers (T1 to T4) that increase the bonus of the pilot. Tiers can be increased for gold. Only legendary pilots can achieve T4. Skills that are randomly rolled have a small chance to be higher than T1. The effects listed in the Wiki (as per pre-6.2) are now T3. All existing skills pre-update became T3 in the new system. Example: Master Gunsmith on an Ao Jun at T1 gives 1.25% damage if the level is maxed. At T2, the bonus increases to 1.9%. For T3 it's 2.5%. Some skills like Foolhardy Quartermaster do not change if their tier is increased.
Every 10th level after level 1 (11, 21, 31, 41, 51, and 61) the pilot needs to be promoted to a new rank.
Tier upgrade costs
Upgrade | Cost |

T1->T2 | 500 AU |
T2->T3 | 1,000 AU |
T3->T4 | 2,000 AU (legendary pilots only) |

Sum | 10,500 | 10,000 | 20,500 | 24,000 | 31,000 | 45,000 |
Total costs assume skill selection. Costs may be higher or lower when random rolling is used.
Skill total is for non-legendary pilots. Legendary pilots have their special skill on top of these.
Replacing Skills
If for any reason the random skill your robot configuration acquires isn't to your liking, you can get it replaced in two different ways; the first and most simple way is to "re-roll" for a new skill.
Skill replacement is done by pressing the "Change a skill" button in the pilot screen. A list of all skills appears, and the skill to be replaced must be selected. The next step is pressing the "Random Skill" button (for a certain amount of gold, depending on the pilot level) it will randomly select a new skill. The other (more expensive way) is to choose your own skill. This is done by pressing the "Skills List" button on the retraining page. Here, you have a choice between all available robot or weapon skills (again gold cost depends on pilot level, see table above) for the current robot setup your pilot is equipped to.
As per Pixonic, the user interface will change in a future version as players may accidentally replace a wrong skill with the new interface. Please take care to select the correct skill before replacing it.
Note: Whatever level the replaced skill was, the new skill will be of the same level, this means you will not lose any progress towards your skills.
