Introduction
The Jaeger is a four-legged sniper robot with a robust built in kinetic weapon and an Aegis shield.
Abilities
The Jaeger alternates between two abilities, Scout Mode and Attack Mode. While in Scout Mode, Jaeger's speed is increased, and when in attack mode, the robot slows down and activates its built-in kinetic cannon and an Aegis shield.
Strategy
Jaeger focused around the sniper playstyle, so it has a slow movement speed and an average durability. It is recommended to be a long-range support robot. Given two heavy weapon slots and a sniper ability, it's a good idea to use sniper weapons like Tempest, Flux, Trebuchets, or Gauss. Players may also use Tempest or Nucleon, as maintain accuracy over range, but the use of Avenger is not advised, due to its low accuracy and needs to be close to maximize its damage output. Since this robot can climb structures, it is best to use that ability to gain higher ground and gather information on the enemy, while being able to snipe at any players. Jaeger shouldn't be used as a brawler due to its low movement speed, big hitbox, and average health.
As one of the strongest snipers in the game, only able to be rivalled by the Behemoth and sometimes the Leech, the Jaeger should be equipped with a weapon that takes advantage of the various traits that make it unique. The main objective of any commander is to keep a great distance from the battlefield and provide support/covering fire to anyone who is engaging in the center of the battlefield.
Threat Measure
Jaeger is a high threat both low and medium leagues due to its high firepower, but is a moderate threat in the upper leagues due to its low speed, which is outclassed by robots like Phantom and Ravana. Besides that, it also poses a significant deterrent for other opposing snipers - a counter sniper. Due to that it has a tough aegis shield, which can recharge between volleys and that it has the firepower equivalent to that of the Fury.
Possible Setups
Some effective builds for the Jaeger are:
Close Range (350m or less)
Mid-Range (500-600m)
Long Range (800-1,100m)
Overview
The Jaeger is a powerful sniping platform that can be rendered useless without a good setup, as its built-in kinetic cannon serves as a minor boost to overall damage while sniping. While the Jaeger is close to useless in close-combat, a good setup that also serves as a medium-range configuration (albeit not very well) is paired Avengers. However, it is much more advised to use double Tempests, as their powerful shells will quickly deplete enemies' health pools with the added bonus of the enemies not being able to return fire, but if they do actually get close enough the Jaeger can deploy a quickly-regenerating Aegis shield to defend itself.
Another good build is twin Dragoons, or dual Tridents for its splash counterpart. Both setups rely on several quick bursts of damage, but due to their reload-while-firing attribute they can fire continuously (albeit with a slower ROF) even when depleted of shells.
For more continous damage, Viper or Nucleon will go quite well on the Jaeger. They have 500m range, allowing for a semi-sniper role, and can deal devastating damage for quite a while until they have to reload (or cool down, in the case of the Nucleon). The only real downside to these weapons are that they don't go very well with the Jaeger's kinetic shell-shooter.
For one-shot damage, Gauss, Zeus and Trebuchet are the best candidates for the Jaeger. The Zeus deals catastrophic damage when upgraded from ranges up 600m, and it will be back in just 5 seconds with its short reload. Gauss and Trebuchet, meanwhile, have much longer ranges of 800m and 1,100m respectively. They have a charge-accumulating attribute, allowing them to charge up for a while behind cover, and the commander can choose when (and with it how much damage) to fire. The Gauss has a shorter range then the Trebuchet, but is a kinetic weapon and can bypass damage resistance, whilst the Trebuchet is cheaper, is an energy weapon and can fire with an extra 300m range.
The Flux is the final choice. It can steadily vaporize enemies with a focused laser beam from up to 1,100m range. Like the Dragoon and Trident, it has a reload-while-firing attribute, but uses it up slowly, allowing for much more sustained-combat potential than either of the others.
Not Recommended
- The use of Nashorn or Kang Dae are not advised as they have neither the sustained-combat potential nor damage to remain competitive where the Jaeger becomes available, though they do have much synergy with the Jaeger's built-in weapon.
- Close-range weapons are not advised as they do not fit in with the Jaeger's role for sniping.

Trivia
- Jaeger means hunter in German.
- This robot can currently be won in the Evolife bloom event, though the event still looks like the Icarus Cyber show.
- The built-in cannon has similar functions as your average Nashorn.
- The Jaeger is described by Pixonic as the "Best sniper in the game"
- During its initial release, there was a bug which sometimes caused the Jaeger's legs to phase through the ground except its body, preventing any movement. This was fixed in the following update.
- A bug currently exists with the special edition Solid Jaeger, where its legs aren't properly connected to the lower base. Making it look awkward, but still functions normally.
- The Solid Jaeger is a reference to the long forgotten idea of the robot Bastion.
