Introduction
The Heavy Armor Kit is a passive module.
Strategy
This module grants a stackable % bonus to a robot's durability. Due to this effect, many players often make use of its 7% durability increase (at base level) on fragile glass cannon robots such as the Spectre, Ares and Ao Jun to increase their health so they can make use of their high firepower for longer. However, sometimes commanders also mount them on less fragile tanks like Invader and Lancelot, to further enhance their already-high health pools. This way, you get one of the strongest tanks in the game able to survive heavy pummeling from all sides and re-emerging without a scratch.
This module can be paired with certain Pilots for extremely high resistance. As such, you should always mount these modules on your best candidates to overwhelm the heavy downsides (see below).
This module is the "upgraded" version of the Armor Kit as it performs the same function, but with significantly higher stats, however at prices unaffordable for the vast majority of players. It gives a health boost even higher than a fully upgraded Armor Kit (5%) at base level (7%), but most commanders prefer to invest in Pilots, Drones or hangar decks, before they willingly buy a Heavy Armor Kit due to its low price-effectivness. At a ridiculous 40 million Silver per level, maxing it out for only 5% more health costs 200 million Silver, which is higher than the price for upgrading Tier IV robots from level 1 to 12.
However, it isn't all doom and gloom. Heavy Armor Kit may be expensive to upgrade, but when you go through the silver and finally upgrade it to max level, it provides a health buff of 12%. That means three of these modules, maxed out, on a max level Invader with a maxed out pilot with as much skills as possible for health, it can essentially reach more than 800,000 durability. Needless to say, Heavy Armor Kits are probably worth investing in if you already have maxed robots.
As the Heavy Armor Kit is a passive module, you cannot mount it on a Titan. Instead, Titans use their own class of modules, namely Titan Armor Kit and Plated Armor Kit.
