Introduction[]

Flooded Canyon is a version of Canyon map with extra covers, teleporters and toxic wastes that can harm players.

This map features a lot cover, although there is the occasional rock to hide behind. There are two teleporters in the map, however you cant teleport back after teleported. On one side of the map is a small bridge near a home beacon. Both teams spawn quite close to each other and, with the small size of the map, close range fights over the central beacon can be guaranteed to take place fast and often. As well as the central beacon, each side of the map has two more beacons located on either side of the teams' spawn points. The ravine is one of the main sources of cover in this map. However, enemy robots can still drop down to ambush you. With the toxic waste, the map becames more dangerous while playing.

General Tactics[]

In this large map (1,300 meters wide), medium and long range robots will do best. A significant portion of the battle will take place in and around the ravine, which is one of the main sources of cover as well as the location of the central beacon. It is possible to capture the central beacon from beneath the bridge, which is often a safer option as the ravine offers some of the best cover in the map.

The compacted nature of the map makes it possible to quickly cross from one side to the other and flank opponents. For this reason it is especially important to maintain situational awareness at all times; when charging to grab center beacon it is easy to quickly find yourself surrounded and exposed, especially when on top of the bridge. Situational awareness is crucial to this map.

The two home beacons are very close to the spawn points and should be captured immediately. Again, the map's small size makes it possible for a light robots to traverse it rapidly, sneaking up to capture a home beacon while everyone is distracted by the struggle for the central beacon.

Medium and long range weapons like the Dragoon, Trident, Zeus or Trebuchet can be quite deadly on this map because of the lack of cover. Robots, especially unshielded ones, should be extremely careful on this map, as robots are often exposed due to the lack of cover, making snipers and mid-rangers particularly dangerous on this map.

It is possible for certain robots with jumping or climbing abilities (such as the Griffin and Raijin) to reach otherwise inaccessible places on the map. The Raijin's climbing ability is quite useful, as it can climb over short but steep robots which are often long and commonly seen on most of the map, enabling it to reduce travel time. Jumping robots such as the Rogatka, as well as the Hover can use their abilities to jump onto tall rocks and other obstacles in order to gain higher ground or a better view, however, the better the view that your robot has, often means that you are more exposed and are therefore more vulnerable to sniper fire.
