Introduction[]
The Loki is a medium robot with 3 light hardpoints. It is unofficially classified as a light robot based on wiki criteria.
Ability[]
Loki is one of four robots in the Ragnarok Squad, the others being the Fafnir, Tyr and Fenrir. It has two Modes: Assault Mode and Recon Mode. In Recon Mode, the Loki loses the ability to fire its weapons but goes into permanent stealth and gains a 60% speed boost (88 km/h at max speed). In Assault Mode, it can fire its weapons but loses the speed buff and stealth.
Note: there is a 5-second cooldown between switching Modes.
Strategy[]
The Loki is a very frustrating robot to play against due to the combination of its assets (high speed and potentially infinite stealth). This leads to a variety of interesting tactics that the commander can employ to maximize the effect the Loki has on the battlefield.
The most important rule, without a doubt, in playing the Loki is to make beacons the number one priority, and, as such, stay in Recon Mode as much as possible. This is the only role the Loki is perfect for, with other strategies having major flaws that can be picked at. The only thing that can hurt the Loki when it's in Recon Mode is enemies with stealth targeting or methods to inflict AoE damage, essentially making it invulnerable to all but a few select loadouts.
However, it always pays to be vigilant of those aforementioned select loadouts, as the Loki does not have the health pool to allow any mistakes in its commanding. Steering well clear of any enemies that have the ability to inflict AoE damage or use stealth targeting will significantly enhance the Loki's survival time on the battlefield. Furthermore, always try to ensure the Loki is at a different altitude to the hardpoints of any enemy robots that are trying to go for it without stealth targeting, as they'll be unable to hit the Loki's elevated/depressed hitbox from their altitude.
If an entirely passive playstyle isn't for the commander though, the Loki can potentially act as a great asset in distracting enemies. By immediately capping all beacons next to the enemy's spawn as soon as possible, the Loki is bound to get a few enemies on its tail trying to destroy it and prevent their beacon bar from dropping further. This can significantly reduce the fighting strength of the enemies on the frontline, and provided there's a good enough team backing the Loki it's almost guaranteed that they win the engagement.
Unfortunately, unlike a passive beacon capping playstyle, using this tactic is bound to attract enemies to the Loki, some of which potentially have stealth targeting or AoE damage at their disposal. If they actually do, make sure that the Loki uses cover to its maximum extent to minimize exposure to the enemies' guns.
A very important tip to keep in mind at all times is never to enter Assault Mode unless it's 100% apparent that the enemy is unaware of the Loki's presence. Even so, after entering Assault Mode it's advisable not to expose the bot until Shapeshift's cooldown is finished. This is because it's recommended to have the ability to enter Recon Mode at any time in a combat situation if the Loki attracts enemy attention the moment it enters Assault Mode there's a 5 second interval in which the enemy is able to return fire. The Loki will almost never win in a battle of DPS with an enemy.
Counterplay
Once stealth mode is activated the Loki's weapons fold back, and only Quantum Radar, Quantum Sensor, blind firing, the Rook's Castling, the Luchador's Frog Splash, the Indra's Electrical Lasso, the Minos' Charge, the Arthur's Blast Wave, the Kid's Stove, the Invader's Incursion, the Mercury's Helldive, the Hellburner's Overload, the Shell's Atom and the Ochokochi's Stampede can dispose of the little thing. However, none of the aforementioned robots and titans can do anything about it when their ability is on cooldown. However, despite having infinite stealth, the Loki is extremely delicate and can be destroyed within seconds by high-damage weapons. The best way to attack a Loki when it is in Recon Mode is to change your robot's altitude (using hills, ramps, etc.) to get your hardpoints to the same altitude as the Loki. At this point, all you have to do is blind-fire with your aiming reticle on the Loki and it should be usually wiped out.
Threat Measure
One of the Ragnarok Trio, Loki stands for trickery and deadly steps. Armed with 3 light weapons it has enough firepower to inflict damage, and the speed, stealth, and mobility to escape danger. It is predominantly used in beacon games to infiltrate the enemy backlines.
While it can be a threat to your beacon bar, the actual threat to your robot is almost non-existent. Loki pilots rarely come out of Recon Mode due to the significant delay between dropping stealth and activating its weapons, which gives you a couple of seconds to attack it while it's helpless. Due to its squishiness, Loki is rarely put into Assault mode as its light slots don't do enough damage to justify the amount of damage it could potentially take in its helplessness-period.
Because of Assault Mode hardly being used, and even then barely denting your robots, Loki is a low/nonexistent threat in the mid-leagues and above, and a moderate/high threat in the lower leagues (but who would get a Loki in those leagues?).
Possible Setups[]
These setups are recommended for the Loki:
Note: Each slot type is filled with only one particular weapon. For example, if a robot has 3 light all three of those slots are filled with Pinatas, as mixing weapons of the same slot type is not advisable.
However, utility weapons can be effectively mixed with standard weaponry, for example the Halo (a root weapon) could be used on one light slot, and a Gust on another. This is because weapons such as the Halo give up firepower for the utility of locking down enemies.

Trivia[]
- Loki is trickster god in Norse mythology, known for being able to shapeshift and being one of the sneakiest gods.
- Near the area his name is, an Odal can be seen.
- In the past, the Loki was a controversial robot as many players disliked this robot spawning in the enemy team, as the stealth in its Recon Mode lasts forever.
- However, the controversy has recently moved on to the Crisis, as it is similar to the Loki but better in almost every way.
- In the War Robots Remastered version, if the player puts 3 Aphids on the Loki, the visual of the Aphids are sometimes flipped. It is unknown if this is already fixed.
- This robot was added on April 25, 2019.
- The Loki is one of four bots that have 3 light hardpoints. The others are the Gepard, Pursuer and Bolt.
