Introduction[]
The Scorpion is a medium robot with 2 medium and 1 light hardpoint.
Ability[]
Scorpion's ability is called Backstab. When activated the robot teleports behind an enemy (350m range), activates resistance (35% damage reduction), gains a 37% speed boost (83 km/h at max speed) and starts firing a built-in weapon (100m range) which inflicts direct and damage over time (DOT effect). The ability lasts for 8 seconds and has an 18 second cooldown. If the ability is activated a second time, the robot will teleport back to the point where it originally activated its ability.
Strategy[]
The Scorpion is intended to quickly ambush and eliminate enemies. It is thus best suited for weapon setups with high burst Damage Per Second (DPS) in a short amount of time. Examples include Freezing (Cryo and Rime), Explosion (Orkan and Pinata), Kinetic (Storm and Gust), and Sonic (Havoc and Scatter). Short ranged weapons especially excel due to the Scorpion's ability to get extremely close to its target. Weapons that also work well after teleporting away from the target are Igniter and Blaze, Atomizer and Quarker and Spark and Scourge.
The Scorpion struggles in prolonged combat due to its relatively low health and firepower, so pilots must be careful to minimize time spent exposed outside of resistance and cover. To increase the Scorpion's efficiency, pilots should memorize the ability cooldowns of different robots, utilizing Scorpion's Backstab while their target is still vulnerable.
For the most tactical teleportation, Scorpion pilots should prioritize single targets. Picking hit-and-run targets that have just unloaded their weapons and have used their ability are easy prey for the Scorpion. Good examples include Ares, Ao Jun, Ao Guang, Leech, Hades, and Hawk, as their ability reloads and 'Gun-and-run' playstyles can both be exploited by the Scorpion's Backstab ability. Focusing on medic robots such as Mender, Demeter, Nightingale and support / team protection-based robots such as Fujin and Bulwark will also help your team effort as the enemy's repairing capability or protection will be severely damage due to the lack of robots which can either heal or provide the enemy with shields. Additionally, shielded bots like Erebus, Jaeger, and Ares can be taken down easily due to the Scorpion teleporting inside the shield, exploiting the reliance of these bots on their shield.
Possible Setups[]
Some effective setups for the Scorpion are:
Note: When "Opt." is next to a slot type, it refers to one of the multiple options that can be used in combination with the other weapon(s) slot type(s).
Each slot type is filled with only one particular weapon. For example, if a robot has 3 light all three of those slots are filled with Pinatas, as mixing weapons of the same slot type is not advisable.

Mid-Range (500-600m)[]
Overview[]
The Scorpion can be a frustrating robot to play against. A combination of cloaking provided by the Ash Skasgard pilot, unique teleportation advantages, increased defense points and a large burst damage output makes it extremely difficult to counter Scorpion. Most opponents are forced to immediately use their own robot's ability to counter a Scorpion attack, since it is very difficult to quickly determine the threat they're facing.
The element of surprise is always on the side of the Scorpion. Due to its agility, unique ability and constant advantage over other bots, Scorpion dominates weaker opponents, glass cannons, and unsuspecting players.
Not Recommended[]
- The use of cheaper equipment on the Scorpion is not advised due to their meager DPS and inflexibility in some situations. However, it can be used as a placeholder while stronger weapons are being produced.
- The use of most mid-range and all long-range weaponry as they do not fit the Scorpion's role as a teleporting saboteur that is almost always at knife-fighting range.

Trivia[]
- Scorpion one of the robots named after real animals.
- During the first few test server sessions of Scorpion, it initially did not have any damage resistance, slightly less health and ability damage, but its teleportation range was 500m and had a slightly longer cooldown. The stats were adjusted based on feedback from test server recipients in later sessions.
- If an opponent puts themselves in an spot that obstructs the normal teleportation spot for the Scorpion. The Scorpion will teleport to the nearest unobstructed space, either beside its target or wherever there is available space.
- In the very rare event that there are no possible spots to teleport within 100m around the target, the Scorpion will default to its normal teleportation spot and bypass any obstruction or barrier that was blocking it in the first place. This is only possible if the target somehow gets inside a structure, falling, or outside the map.
- While viewing Scorpion in the hangar, it's corrosion gun is raised the same way it would be raised when Backstab is active.
- Scorpion's acoustic skin has a similar color to the Scatter, Havoc, and Devastator.
- In update 9.7.0 (or 2024 Lunar New Year), everyone got a Scorpion for free (along with 1x Scatter and 2x Havoc)
