Introduction[]
The Cryo is a close-range (up to 300 meters) Cryogenic medium rocket weapon. It has a light and heavy counterpart (Rime and Glacier respectively) and can be viewed as the freezing counterpart to the Orkan.
Strategy[]
The Cryo's explosive shells, freeze ability, and firing mechanic work very similar to its light counterpart Rime and its heavy counterpart Glacier. Except for the freeze ability, the Cryo also works in a similar fashion to the Orkan.
When using Cryos it is recommended to employ a hit-and-run strategy to take advantage of the high burst DPS and freeze effect. The Cryo's effectiveness goes down considerably after it has used up its salvo, which is another reason why it cannot be used on slow robots.
The Cryo's freeze abilty makes it very useful to slow down fast-moving enemy robots such as the Kumiho, Strider or Pursuer. This allows one's teammates to quickly eliminate the threat and buys time for the rest of the team to get into a good firing position. The freeze ability can also be used to slow down enemies pursuing you, allowing more time for a strategic retreat or repositioning.
The Cryos freeze ability lowers the targeted bot's defenses by 20%, allowing teammates to inflict considerable damage. Cryos pair very well with weapons that provide sustained DPS such as Igniters and Atomizers. Once the Cryos have used their high burst salvo to freeze a target (and the Cryos are no longer very effective), the other weapons can continue inflicting significant damage.
