The Dash ability gives it the capability of a quick burst of movement in any given direction. It shares this ability with the other two Korean robots, the Strider, and the Bolt. The Bulgasari can store two Dash charges. It is both the slowest bot and most heavily armored bot of the group.
The Bulgasari is the only robot with the Dash ability to also have a built-in physical shield, which is attached to its left side. It can be broken off after sustaining heavy damage, like the Raijin, Lancelot, Galahad, Gareth and Rhino.
The Bulgasari possesses three medium hardpoints. The combination of its high firepower, solid health, strong physical shield, and Dash ability, can make this robot a formidable bot on the battlefield. This robot is built to support multiple play-styles including; ambush, brawling, and mid-range support.
Its weaknesses include its inability to block rocket weapons and average ground speed (when not using dash). Cryos, Orkans, Igniter, Scourge, and Tarans are good weapons suited to the Bulgasari and its playstyle.
The Bulgasari's physical shield is located on its side so it must turn its torso in the direction of incoming fire so the shield can block the damage. The shield does not extend far beyond the robot's torso so some projectiles might not be blocked. The Bulgsasari's shield is also the second most durable shield in the game making it extremely reliable.
Bulgasari can serve as a very solid defender for beacons especially when teaming up with other robots, particularly those equipped with energy barriers, Aegis-class and Absorber shields.
These setups are effective for the Bulgasari:
Note: Each slot type is filled with only one particular weapon. For example, if a robot has 3 light all three of those slots are filled with Pinatas, as mixing weapons of the same slot type is not advisable.
Close Range (350m or less)
The Bulgasari is a brawler and best used for close-range engagements. However, Bulgasari has recently fallen out of favor due to the its vulnerability to freezing rockets and shield-bypassing damage such as the Arthur's Blast Wave, the Kid's Stove, Invader's Incursion, Mercury's Helldive, and Ao Jun's Dragon Breath.
The Bulgasari's physical shield plus dash ability allows the bot to advance and close in on an enemy while taking fire. Weapons that have both mid-range and close-quarters capabilities like the Scourge support this tactic.
In the hands of a skilled pilot, the Bulgasari can also hold its own against the Ravana, especially if equipped with sustained DPS weapons such as Scourge, as the Bulgasari never has an "advantage period" for the Ravana's Transcendence to bypass, and instead has a highly durable physical shield that can block Ravana's damage (unless rockets are used). This is especially true in wide-open areas, and if brawling against the Ravana in cover, Bulgasari has Dashes to help it evade properly, essentially giving it the same advantage of the Ravana to quickly get behind cover to evade attacks.
For mid-range support and ambushing, Shocktrain, Scourge, and Ion are good for harassment, using the dash to move in and out of cover while deflecting sniper fire with its shield. This tactic overall makes the Bulgasari much more sustainable, as it outranges everything that it is vulnerable to.
The biggest counter to mid-range Bulgasari builds are very fast robots that can outlast or evade its weaponry via the use of Resistance or Stealth - no matter how many times Bulgasari dashes, it will not be able to escape other, more nimble bots. This is why triple Scourges is the most recommended setup, as they provide mid-range support while also giving the Bulgasari a chance against faster robots in the event of a close-ranged brawl due to their lock-on effect.

- Pixonic stated that they are "moving away from light, medium, heavy classification" starting with the "Dash Bots", though each Dash Bot could be easily given a classification- Kumiho (light), Haechi (medium), Bulgasari (heavy).
- This robot has the second most durable physical shield out of any robot in the game, with the first belonging to the Rhino.
- According to a Korean language dictionary, this is what the Bulgasari looks like: "body is a bear's, nose is an elephant's, eye is a rhino's, fur is of needles, tail is a cow's, and leg is a tiger's"
