Introduction

The Bane is a close-range (up to 300 meters) heavy energy weapon. It is the heavy version of the light Toxin and the medium Venom. Like its counterparts, it deals damage over time (DoT) to the enemy.

Strategy

The Bane acts as the DoT version of the flamethrower weapons Blaze, Igniter, and Ember. Like the three flamethrowers, projectiles from this weapon can bypass all types of shielding save for the Aegis and Absorber shields. This means that bot that depend and shielding for combat effectiveness (e.g., Authur ) are severely hampered against these types of weapons.

The Bane has a smaller clip, 50 meters less range, and less damage per shot than the flamethowers, in exchange for a DoT effect and 2 seconds faster reload.

  • Relatively faster projectiles than Blaze, Igniter, and Ember

Cons

  • 300-meter maximum range requires close-range engagement
  • Low direct damage (must rely on DoT for its full effect)
  • Needs to empty entire clip in order to reload
  • DoT only lasts 3 seconds
