Introduction
The Ao Guang is a medium robot with 3 Medium hardpoints.
Ability
Ao Guang's ability is named Dragon Fangs.
When Dragon Fangs is activated the robot rises into the air and gains a 40% speed boost (63 km/h at max speed), gains 80% damage resistance from all weapon types for the duration of the flight, and can damage enemies with a built-in homing missile launcher. The pilot can manually shorten the duration of the flight at any time, which will cause the Ao Guang to land and stop firing its built-in missile launcher.
While in flight the robot hovers and cannot increase or decrease altitude. It can reach a higher altitude if the ability is activated in a location higher than ground level.
The missile launcher functions much like the Hydra but with a faster rate of fire (4 missiles per second), and less damage per missile. It can fire up to 26 missiles per activation. In order for the missile launcher to be fired the pilot must have the cross-hairs aimed at the target.
Strategy
Ao Guang is part of the SpaceTech faction, along with the Ao Jun and Ao Qin.
The Ao Guang has relatively low hit points (120,000 HP at Mk1 level 12) but is compensated by the increased damage resistance from the Dragon Fangs Ability. While using the ability the Ao Guang has extra firepower, increased damage resistance, and better mobility which makes for a good ambusher and close-in / mid-range support.
Ao Guang has limited capabilities as a brawler. While in flight, its damage resistance, triple medium harpoints and built-in homing missile launcher make it deadly as a skirmisher, but after it lands, it will essentially expose itself to enemy fire with no damage resistance and short-range weapons, so if it's to be played as a brawler, that should be taken into account.
Note: Titan weapons have defense mitigation which can inflict damage to the Ao Guang while it is in flight.
Threat Measure
When its ability is not activated, Ao Guang is vulnerable. The bot's 3 medium weapons provide significant firepower, and the Ao Guang's homing missile system allows it to hit fast-moving targets. Ao Guang is a medium threat in the middle-leagues and a low threat in the upper leagues.
Possible Setups
These setups are recommended for the Ao Guang:
Note: Each slot type is filled with only one particular weapon. For example, if a robot has 3 light all three of those slots are filled with Pinatas, as mixing weapons of the same slot type is not advisable.
